Christmas 2009

24 12 2009

Christmas Eve is finally here, and even though we’re still unpacking and getting settled in our house, we managed to decorate a bit.

Happy Christmas Eve and merry Christmas!

McBaxalido

22 12 2009

So, what have we been up to since getting married? Why, buying a house, of course!

Here is our new home, McBaxalito. It is a lovely 3/2 in northwest Austin. At around 1800 square feet, it provides us and our pack of tiny animals ample room. Next up… planning our housewarming party!

We have recently adopted the adorable Fizzybiscuits. The dogs think he is their new play toy.

Angela’s 25th birthday

11 03 2008

This weekend we celebrated Angela’s 25th birthday. Here, she blows out all those candles on her delicious vegan chocolate cake. She got several great birthday presents, including a car stereo and satellite radio, a year’s worth of satellite radio service, a new Sigg bottle and a much-needed iTunes gift certificate. Look similar to Franklin’s birthday party? Yeah, we kinda recycled.

Franklin’s 6th birthday

6 03 2008

On February 26th, cousin Franklin turned 6. We got to see him the following weekend for his THIRD birthday party of the week. We had lunch at Chuck-e-Cheese, then had chocolate cake and presents back at our place. Franklin LOVES his Legos! Here, you can see me cutting Franklin a ridiculously giant slice of cake.

Holding adorable baby Peanut!

Our good friends Ashley and Jay recently worked together on a joint project – producing this adorable baby girl, Audris Scout Holzer (she goes by Scout). We were lucky enough to have dinner with Scout and fam and got to spend some quality time hanging out. Isn’t she cute?

Al gets a new car

29 02 2008

My trusty Rodeo recently had some repairs that came too close to exceeding its value, and I traded it in for a new 2008 Mazda Tribute. After a hectic week of car shopping, I’m happy to have a new vehicle to cart around the fam.

Jetskiing on Lake Travis

14 08 2007

This past Sunday Angela, Desaray, Francine and I met up with Uncles Barry and Tal and cousin Franklin out on Lake Travis to shred some water. Angela was wary at first, but she was brave and gave it a try, and she realized jetskis are pretty fun! Like “water motorcycles, except when you fall off you don’t die.”

Barry and Tal were nice enough to rent these fun toys so that we could all enjoy the gorgeous day on the lake. We ate snacks, snapped photos and played some catch with Franklin while every took turns on the jetskis.

Check out the Jetskiing on Lake Travis set to see more photos.

Squishy sees her playhouse for the first time

16 07 2007

Squishy and momma Amber have been out of town for the past week visiting family. Aaron didn’t spend the alone time simply playing X-Box and eating like crap (though may have done some of that)… he put the finishing touches on, frankly, the most amazing playhouse I’ve ever seen.

It’s really less of a playhouse and more of a pink princess mansion complete with a loft bed, a little coloring desk, and a game table and 4 chairs for the adults to sit around and hang out as well. It has lights, MP3 player and speaker hookup, and is generally badass.

Check out the rest of the set for more adorableness.

Sun, surf and a weekend of being somewhere else

17 06 2007

Well, we’re back from our weekend in Corpus Christi with Desaray and Francine. Though it was hectic at times trying to wrangle three dogs and four people in one hotel room, we mostly had a blast and spent some amazing time at the beach.

We visited the state aquarium, ate dinner on the water, had some amazing vegan and vegetarian food, and played with the dogs at the beach. The best part of the trip is something I have absolutely no photos of – Saturday night we drove out to the beach after dark and laid out on a blanket on the sand, just staring up at the ridiculous expanse of stars. Norman Fisher really has something going with that “stargazing meditation” idea. It did make me feel incredibly small.

Check out the full set to see more photos from the trip.
Also, Angela kept singing this jingle all weekend long, and the funny faces she’s making in many of the photos are her laughing at herself singing it. ;)
